The 12 km Cliff path is recognized as one of the best coastal-based places for whale watching in the world during the whale season. (July to December). Spotting the around 5000 Southern Right Whales can also be done from the air or enjoyed on a boat cruise.

Shark Cage diving tours operate from nearby Gansbaai. The Old Harbour in town offers Sea Kayaking. Two tidal swimming pools are located very close to the hotel. Hermanus boasts beaches with pristine, white sand, and great swimming and surfing in the Indian Ocean.

There is a world class 27-hole golf course nestled between the mountains and the sea.

There is easy access to mountain hikes or gentle walks through the unique Fynbos in the Nature Reserves, which have over 1600 different plant species. With birding being one of the fastest growing eco-tourist sectors in the world, Hermanus is a bird watcher's paradise. There are 111 recorded species in the diverse areas of Fynbos, mountain, coastal, river and estuarine habitats in very compact terrain.

The Hemel-en-Aarde (Heaven and Earth) valley which comprises 14 wine estates for wine tasting and lunches is a short drive away. Here you can experience the southern-most vineyards in Africa
